Dear Friends,
Welcome to another issue of the 112th Precinct Community Council News. My name is John Philbin and I am the new commanding officer of the 112th Precinct.
I am pleased to report that crime is down 12%for the preceding year. It is through the hard work and dedication of police officers, supervisors and the community that this was able to be accomplished. In addition the quality of life in our neighborhood has improved dramatically Captain Stravalle did an outstanding job here, and I intend on following in those footsteps.
Our holiday coat drive was the most successful ever, and the canned food drive provided many with holiday dinners. The Community Council holiday party was enjoyed by all and even Police Commissioner Kelly stopped by to meet with all of us and spread good cheer. Thank you to the executive board for making this party our best one yet.
Please join me at our monthly Community Council meetings at the precinct. The meetings provide an opportunity for you to listen to interesting guest speakers , and provide a forum where you can meet many of my staff and get your questions answered and problems resolved.
I look forward to hearing from you at community meetings and through the many good letters that are written praising the officers of this command.Thank you for all of your comments. I hope the new year is a safe and happy one for all of us. John F. Philbin
Captain
