From the 112 Precinct Commanding Officer
January 2006
I want to wish each of you a Happy, Healthy and Safe New Year as we begin 2006. 2005 was a successful year for the 112 Precinct. Thanks to the efforts of the men and women of the 112 Precinct and the cooperation and support we received from you, the community, crime was reduced over six percent for the year. The most significant decrease occurred with Burglaries, which were reduced over forty-three percent for the year. Thank you for all your assistance and encouragement because we could not do our job without you?’re cooperation.
I would like to thank the Community Council for all the programs sponsored throughout the year. The Driver Training Insurance Reduction and the First Aid courses offered opportunities to community residents to receive valuable training that provided personal as well as communal benefits to all those who took advantage of the courses. The Council once again did a spectacular job with the Night Out Against Crime in August. The year culminated with a successful Holiday party in December in spite of the Transit Strike. A big thank you to the council for all your help throughout the year, I look forward to a successful 2006.
Before closing I would like thank all the volunteers who assist the precinct throughout the year. Starting with our Auxiliary Police Officers, who on their own time and for no monetary compensation help protect the community. I can?’t begin to tell the invaluable service they provide to all of us. The next group that should be recognized is our volunteer precinct receptionists. These folks greet you as you enter the precinct and provide information and assistance to community residents seeking police assistance. I would ask that the next time you see our volunteers please thank them for their service.
Again here?’s to a Happy New Year in 2006.
John F. Philbin
Deputy Inspector
