Dear Neighbor:
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We have been very busy during the first few months of the year. We distributed our graffiti brochure, gave presentations with the precinct about graffiti and held a paint over of graffiti on March 24th. As a community service, we offered our DMV accident prevention course for free for our community on March 31st. This course, paid for by the precinct council, gives the participants a discount on their car insurance.
We are encouraging your participation with our ?“vial of life?” program. This program enables emergency responders who respond to a house or apartment to have the medical and personal information about an individual who is unable to provide this information to them. The council provides you with the to be placed on the refrigerator or on the phone in your kitchen. The information sheets are to be kept inside your refrigerator in a plastic bag on the left side.. We also recommend that you make a copy of your information and include it in your ?“go bag?” in the event of an emergency.
We continue to distribute whistles for everyone?’s safety. Our new Crime prevention officer Zena Vailes has joined with our Community Affairs officers Gigi Redzematovic and Jimmy Smith and helped the precinct council give presentations on public safety issues. We spoke at senior centers and at the public libraries. If you want to have a presentation for your group, please contact me at Council112@yahoo.com.
The precinct council really appreciates the support that we get from Captain Napolitano and our officers. They are wonderful and they make our many programs possible. Your council honored and thanked Captain Napolitano for one year of excellent service to our community at our March Meeting. We work very closely with the precinct to better our community. Our efforts were recognized by State Senator Huntley. I was presented with a proclamation and honored during our March meeting .
During March, Chief Diana Pizzuti was appointed Borough Commander of Patrol Borough Queens North. We welcome Chief Pizzuti. Chief Pizzuti has been actively involved in our community for many years. She has helped us with our Tolerance essay contest, she has attended many of our meetings and understands our community. We are thrilled that she was appointed. Chief Pizzuti was the commanding officer of the police academy
Please be sure that you come to our April meeting with our guest speaker will be the Honorable Judge Brown.
As community members, we can help each other. If you see something ?–please call 911. The precinct council honored a concerned neighbor during our February meeting. Everyone can help each other.
BE CAREFUL! STAY SAFE! Very truly yours,
Heidi Harrison Chain
President
