Alley Improvements
Although not within the defined boundaries of our neighborhood, the alley between Ridgeway and Glasgow from Junius to the T-alley will be reconstructed with funds from 1998 Bonds. The construction award date is 3/14/2001; the construction start date is 6/11/2001; and the construction completion date is 11/16/2001. All dates are subject to change.

Fowler Homes Construction
Also, just outside our boundaries, the Fowler Christian Homes at 200 South Fulton began an expansion project in April 2000. The project includes a new entrance from Abrams, a new parking lot, and a new two-level apartment building scheduled for completion by May 2001. The first new residents should start moving in late May or early June. The property is bounded by Fulton, East Side, Randall Park, Reiger, and Abrams. If you or someone you know is interested in more information, please contact Hannah Myers at 214-827-0813 x7105.

6100 Tremont Construction
Work continues on three more residences in the 6100 block of Tremont. Two of the three currently under construction are sold for a total of five sold thus far. The townhomes currently being built should be completed and with more new neighbors moving in around May 2001. For more information or to tour a home, please call the real estate number listed on the sign in front of the homes.

Historic Column Power Restored
Thanks to the efforts of Veletta Lill, the Dallas Public Works/Streets department restored power to the other historic column on Abrams near the intersection of Tremont. City crews were able to bore under the street (without tearing it up) to supply electricity to the column.

Island to Peninsula
Neighbors are still interested in calming traffic by closing one side of the traffic island (the one-way only side) at Tremont and Abrams. This would force motorists to make a right turn off of northbound Abrams onto Tremont, instead of continuing straight ahead. The Public Works/Streets department is investigating our options. This process may or may not require a petition and/or fee since it does not fall under the street closure policy. Further developments will follow as they become available.

Randall Park Gets Improvements
If you walk in the 100 block of Glasgow street, you may have noticed work being in Randall Park which lies across the street from Woodrow Wilson High School. Park improvements completed or underway include planting of new trees and restoration of the historic pavillion.
