I concur with Marie and Roger's safety assessment that the single crossing point of AFB should be maintained.

Subject: Proposed Staples Mill Drive north sidewalk adjacent to Mary Queen of Heaven church
Dear Sirs,
We are requesting that you reconsider your stand on the above-referenced sidewalk.
The proposed North-side “new sidewalk” that the City planning committee wants to be placed on the church property would necessitate that the children cross
through the left turn lane on Argyle Forest Boulevard. This lane is severely backed up every school day morning, from 7:45 to 8:30, with more than 10 cars
and school buses, waiting to make the left turn to get to the school. The current sheriff office guards do a splendid and very safe job of controlling the single
point crossing on the south side of Staples Mill, away from this left turn lane.
Another crosswalk is at the ideal specific place (a single point) chosen by the school that is directly in front of the school. This allows maximum control to
assure safe crossing for children and accompanying parents. Based on these facts, it seems obvious that, to add the sidewalk that has been mandated,
will severely compromise the safety of hundreds of grade school children every day, as they come and go to school.
As registered voters and concerned citizens, we look forward to a favorable response in the near future.
Sincerely,
Marie & Roger Berning
