Westown's Biggest Problem

Posted in: Westown Watch
Why is it that Westown's current biggest problem, the gangs in the park aren't mentioned on this site? I know that many of the neighbors have been working to get rid of the problem but what is the city or the police doing to help. It isn't a wonder to me why people get burned out. They try to help themselves and then the city government sits on their hands because the citizens are ''taking care of it''. Will there be someone at the next Westown meeting to SPECIFICALLY address the problem and solutions to this situation?
The biggest problem

Unfortunatly using the system takes time. We have a speaker coming to our next meeting from the organized crime bureau on Tues January 7 at 7 PM. He can give us somemore insight on our current problem. If you look at the bigger picture, if we had more people in the neighborhood actually involved. Reporting suspicious activity at the park or after school is out at the school these cowards wouldn't have a place to hang out. How about calling CPS on the parents that these cowards belong to?
People are afraid to be involved but these are the people that usually say nobody does anything. I am a firm believer in the power of numbers. I have recently met with Councilman Dave Siebert and The Police from Cactus Park Precinct and I garuntee you that they are not sitting on their hands. There will be a rude awakening soon.
Did you see last Saturday when there were some 4th Graders playing on the schools roofs after dark. Did you notice how fast the school was surrounded by Police and the Police Helicopter was shining the spotlight on them. That should be just a taste of what is about to come.
Come to the next meeting and I will tell you more!
