What is a Block Home?
It is a residence where children can find emergency assistance if they are lost, injured or being followed.
Who volunteers to become a Block Home?
Adults willing to be available for the protection and assistance of children and want to help in making our neighborhoods safer for children.
How do I become a Block Home?
Complete a simple application so law enforcement can perform a background check. Once approved, you'll receive a sign and a manual. You don't need to always be home to be a Block Home. Children do not enter your house. Your job is to help them by calling the police, medical personnel, or a parent. The Block Home sign lets children know your house is a safe place to go to seek help in an emergency situation. If you are interested, please call Kim Mahan at 906-0439.
