Are you interested in improving the safety and comfort of the block where you live? A neighborhood block party can be a great way to get to know your neighbors, and lead to better overall neighborhood monitoring and safety.
There is help available to make sure that your block party is a success. The Good Neighboring Resource Guide has information on how to host a block party and a form for free party supplies. The Resource Guides are available at your local Safeway store or State Farm insurance office.
The Resource Guides also contain ideas on other ways of improving neighborhoods, along with resource information on places to go for help. The guides are published by the Neighborhood Resource Center.
The last page of the Resource Guide is an application for a certificate from Safeway for picnic supplies and a gallon of ice cream. Fill out the application and send it to the Neighborhood Resource Center. Along with the Safeway certificates, you will receive ten copies of the Good Neighboring Resource Guide and a block map.
What a nice way to get to know your neighbors and live on a safer block! For more information, call the Neighborhood Resource Center at (303) 561-2204.
