The entrance ramp to Northbound I-25 from Lincoln (Ramp 5) will be closed until late summer 2006. The alternate entrance ramps to NB I-25 are located at Santa Fe, Alameda, or University. Southbound entrance to I-25 will remain open at Kentucky. The project hotline telephone is (303)722-0339.

Obstructed View

APNA worked with neighbors in the 700 block of S. Dale to resolve a line-of-sight issue involving a corner fence that obstructed the view for folks coming out of the alley. The Right-of-Way inspector had the homeowner angle a section of the fence to resolve the problem. Call 303-446-3656 for similar help.

Loitering Problem

APNA is working with neighbors in the 300 block on S. Dale, DPD, Labor Express, and Dollar Store management to find solutions to problems associated with loitering in the area around S. Dale and W. Alameda. Unfortunately, men black-listed from working through Labor Express but still looking for day work continue to hang out in the area. Along with loitering, the problems they create include: public intoxication, using people?’s yards as bathrooms and creating an atmosphere incompatible with residents being able to enjoy their yards or feel safe coming to and from their homes. Contact 720-913-0287 for similar help.

Recording Secretary Needed

Unfortunately, Kristi Wilson, APNA?’s Recording Secretary for the last six months, is moving from the area. Many thanks to Kristi for the time she spent on preparing the meeting minutes! APNA is looking for a volunteer to take over the job. If you?’re interested, please contact Karen, Rick, or Carol for details.

New Scat Officer

District 4 Police have added a new SCAT officer to help Sarg. Kimberly and Officer Martinez handle neighborhood problems. Next time you need help dealing with an issue, contact Officer Raul Silva at 720-913-0226. He?’s here to help.

NIS Focuses Help Our Way

Neighborhood Inspection Services has decreased the area our inspector, Cindy Fernandez, is responsible for in an effort to give her more time for pro-active enforcement efforts in AP and Valverde neighborhoods. Cindy is also responsible for keeping all mobile food vendors in compliance. Let?’s take advantage of this effort to help our neighborhood get more properties into code compliance by working closely with Cindy. Many Thanks to Tom Kennedy and Joaquin Gonzales for finding away to give us more assistance. Keep calling in any code compliance problems you notice to the NIS Concern line at 720-865-3200.
