2005 is bringing many changes to our neighborhood association board. Lynn Whittum, 2004?’s Membership Secretarymarried and moved from the neighborhood. Neighbor Christy Martinez, the daughter of former boardmember Dave Martinez, has volunteered to take over that position. Christy works as an account co-ordinator for Ouray and lives on S. Peterson Way. The long-vacant Recording Secretary position has finally been filled thanks to Kristi Wilson kindly volunteering to step up! Krisiti, who lives on S. Decatur, is a medical transcriptionist. What a great match of job to skills!
Please join APNA in wishing a fond farewell and big thank you to longtime NW Quadrant Leader and Board member Elaine Lopez?— family commitments have required Elaine to step down?—she will be missed! Board member Greg Whelen, who operates a home care facility on S. Alcott, has agreed to assume the NW Quadrant Leader position. Evette Valdez, a neighbor from W. Tennessee, who works as a vehicle accounting administrator for a car dealership, has agreed to assume Greg?’s At-large spot. Evette has already been hard at work helping with her bi-lingual skills to reach out to monolingual-Spanish speakers in the neighborhood as we passed petitions against a cabaret. Many thanks to all of these neighbors for making the time to make a difference in our neighborhood by volunteering to serve on the board.
If you aren?’t on the neighborhood email list, please consider getting on it. This is the most efficient way to communicate what?’s going on in the neighborhood. We send out info about petition drives, police alerts, jobs announcments, lost dog notices, cultural events, zoning cases, graffiti stings and on and on. We don?’t give out email address to others.
