After the annual meeting last night, I realize that we all need to get involved and be vocal if we want to live in a truly great neighborhood. Please help by being attending Homeowner's meetings, Neighborhood Watch meetings, and by all means, send in your $80 fees voluntarily. The folks who are on our board have our best interest in mind...they live here too!
Let's make Mission Viejo great!

I agree, I will pay for now on!
I must admit I had a problem paying dues,I even paid at times to keep the Mission off my back. I know that's bad but I know I'm not alone here! I'm being honest. Sadly I learn my listen by not paying my dues and seeing the Covenant struggle, I see some homes looking run down and kids hanging out and trashing the park as well as the crime going up. I see no more patrol cars from mission coming around and i witness characters takeing shortcuts from big streets to other big streets and it concerns me. I love living here and I am even putting good money down on my house to make it my dream home, but if it keeps going down hill I might consider moving for my family's safety and peace of mind. Point blank I have been here 8 years and slowly watching the neighborhood loose it's pride. I'm willing to pay my dues and bring back the pride and pass it along to others that it would be wise to do so for our familys and our safe community. PAY the DUES for our future! |

You've got to be kidding...
I've been going faithfully to both meetings for well over a decade. We may be earmarked as a ''premier'' development - but get over it. It's a good and nice place to live - but Highlands Ranch or Vail, we're NOT! The board members may live here, but they've only concern for themselves, otherwise, when they had all the money from ''illegal'' mandatory dues they didn't bother to do a wide and efficient sweep of violations. They harassed a select few (those I hear from at the meetings) and did NOTHING with the rest. Save your money for your kid's education or down payment on another home elsewhere. Like was said in another message, it's a nice place to live, not great! By WON'T BOW TO TIN GODS |

Striving to make Mission great!
Hey - I'm raising my kids in this community - I do intend to aspire for it to be a great community, not settling for simply ''nice''. Why in the world do you think Vail or Highlands Ranch are such great communities...could it have something to do with their mandatory homeowners dues that allow improvements/covenant enforcement to happen? I can guarantee their dues are more than $80 a year. We can be a great community without being a super wealthy one, unless financial affluence is your only measure of success. Good for you for being involved with the meetings and so forth....just be more optimistic about our community. Some of us are still holding out hope for it not to fall into ruins.
