Citizens for a Safer Florida, Inc. Is a non profit corporation that has been formed to enable Florida citizens to have a greater voice on issues that affect their safety and well being. The president of Citizens for a Safer Florida, Inc is Jorja Greig. Jorja raises horses and lives in Ocala, Florida. Jorja is a strong advocate for issues that affect all Florida citizens, especially children and animals.
The fireworks industry has several lobbyist in Tallahassee and their objective is to make all consumer fireworks legal in Florida.
To help us fight to protect all Florida citizens from any expansion of fireworks laws we have engaged the services of our own lobbyist, Denise Layne. Denise has been an active lobbyist in Tallahassee for several years. Denise believes in our cause and will track the changes being proposed by the Consumer Fireworks Task Force and will lobby to have the current fireworks State Statute (SS 791) strengthened, not weakened.
We must, however, be ready to flood the Florida Legislature with phone calls, letters and e-mails on any legislation that is not friendly to our cause. Denise will guide us through that process.
