BAN ALL ILLEGAL FIREWORKS

Legislation has been introduced in the Senate (SB 2706)that will, in effect, invalidate State Statute 791 and will make virtually all fireworks legal in Florida. This legislation was written by the fireworks industry and is being sponsored by Senator Alexander. This is a very bad bill as it shows absolutely no concern for the safety or welfare of the thousands of citizens throughout the State.
It is urgent you contact all your legislators and ask them to vote against this bill and to propose and support legislation that will rid our neighborhoods of exploding fireworks.

In March 04 Senator Alexander has withdrawn this Bill. Thank you Senator Alexander.

Senator Lawson has sponsored SB 2686 which improves current Statute 791. It eliminates some of the "loopholes" in the Statue and puts some teeth into the ability of local law enforcement to enforce the law.
Please contact your State Legislators and ask them to support SB 2686. Very important that they hear from you.
