Officer injured when his stopped patrol car is hit
A Dallas police officer suffered minor injuries to his lower back early Sunday morning after a suspected drunken driver rear-ended his patrol car at a traffic stop, police said. The driver, who was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge, struck Sgt. Christopher Rivera's vehicle about 4 a.m. in the 2200 block of West Northwest Highway as the officer was making an unrelated DWI arrest, said Sgt. John Long. Paramedics examined Sgt. Rivera and the drivers at the scene but transported no one to a hospital, Sgt. Long said.
The 2200 block is at Technology Blvd - the new restaurant row, AMC Grand, and Cowboys Red River.
