Baywood Village

The Prez Sez

Sep 24, 2000

First, I want to thank the Board of Directors and
all the volunteers that make the day to day
decisions of running your association. We
have accomplished a lot but more needs to be
done. We need your help---but maybe you
already know that!

In
the last nine months as President of your
Association I have come to appreciate the
quality of the people living in Baywood. We get
calls on the Hot Line occasionally but most of
the Board of Directors receive calls at home
and field them as best we can. Most of the
calls are from concerned neighbors that are
frustrated with someone who is knowingly or
unknowingly abusing the rights of a neighbor.
Be it noise, yards as parking lots, use of
property that is not there=s, running a
business out of a home, horribly bright lights
across a water way, general disorder and
unkempt property. As neighbors we need to
be cognizant of our actions and considerate
of other peoples space.

There are lots of solutions to these and other
problems. One is to be a good neighbor; the
other is a set of deed restrictions that allow
enforcement. We have Deed Restrictions
written in 1957 by the developer and they are
very limited in scope.

It is my opinion that we need to rewrite and
pass a set of Deed Restrictions with teeth and
we need help, if this is what all of you want. Do
we have an Attorney in Baywood to read what
we have and rewrite them to fit the
millennium?

Please step forward; this is your
neighborhood too!!
