VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Refugee Resettlement Agency needs volunteers for English tutoring, driving clients to appointments and donation pick-ups. You do not need to know a second language, just be good with people and have an interest in cultural diversity. Start Making A Reader Today, a privately funded book and reading program for children in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades, is looking for volunteers. ST.CHARLES SPAGHETTI & MEATBALL DINNER
On Sunday, November 5, 2000 from 12 to 6. Enjoy a complete meal at the church located at NE 42nd and Emerson. $8 for adults and $4 for children (3-12). Takeout available and tickets can be purchased the door. This is the church?’s 50th annual dinner.

HELP KEEP A CHILD WARM ALL WINTER
The Salvation Army will have its 16th annual Coats for Kids program. Drop off your gently worn, usable coats at any participating dry cleaner beginning October 1.The coats are cleaned and delivered to The Salvation Army in early November and distributed to children in the community who would not otherwise have a winter coat. The Portland Family Services office of The Salvation Army is also looking for volunteers to help distribute the coats. Adults are needed in the Coat Room to assist parents and children in selecting and trying on coats. For information, call Chris Fruin, Volunteer Coordinator at 239-1226. The distribution of coats to kids will begin the second week of November.

BETHANY BEGINS NEW SERVICE
Bethany Lutheran Church is happy to announce an all-new service, featuring uplifting modern music led by a team of vocal and instrumental musicians, each Sunday at 11:00 am. This modern music service is open to all?—everyone in the community is invited to drop in. Sunday school classes and nursery care are available. Visitors are welcome. HOLIDAY BAZAAR NOV 11TH
The Holiday Bazaar to be held at Wilshire Methodist Church has been changed to Saturday, November 11 from 10 AM to 4 PM. Available for your holidays will be crafts, decorations, baked goods, and candies. You can enjoy homemade soup, sandwiches, and desserts for lunch between 11:30 and 1 PM. NE 39th & Shaver.
