Bedford Eagles Landing Homeowners Association

Meet Trey Blackshire

Feb 22, 2002

President?’s Note: We wanted to feature a member of our association in each of our newsletters in order that each of us can get to know our neighbors. Picking the first subject was the toughest decision. We decided everyone should get to know the editor of our newsletter: Trey Blackshire. Hopefully this will allow each of you to know him better and when he calls you for an article; it will be like talking to family. I have known Trey for about 10 years. He is a very kind and considerate person. I had to say that because I knew he would not. I am going to let Trey take over from here (he knows himself better than anyone) and let him tell you about himself. Take time to get to know him and when you see him out in the yard stop and say hello.

Hello, My name is Trey Blackshire. I am 37 years old and live at 3025 Eagles Nest Drive. I purchased my home in 1998 from my father who purchased it new in 1988 from Westchester home Builders. The home I now live in, is my first home purchased. I did not realize when I purchased it that homes were so expensive to maintain. I really do love it, but last year I have had to replace several items and I often tease my father that he sold me a lemon. I have lived in Bedford since 1975 and attended Shady Brook Elementary, Harwood Jr. High, L.D. Bell, graduating in 1982 after which I attended the University of Texas at Arlington.

I have worked for Delta Air Lines since 1988. I worked for 2 years as a ground agent then in October of 1990, transferred departments and became a flight attendant. I really enjoy my job as it allows me a lot of free time as well as the opportunity to travel and meet people from literally all over the world. I currently commute to New York City and then fly to Europe as much as possible. During my free time, I like to spend time with my family and my girlfriend, Jana Hobratch, who also lives with me on Eagles Nest. My family consists of 3 sisters, 2 nephews, 1 niece, and a father all of who live in the area. I really like the DFW area and especially Bedford; the access to both Dallas and Fort Worth is great.

My hobbies included water-skiing, snow-skiing, doing things with my club and motorcycle ridings. I recently took a trip, on my motorcycle, to the northwest and visited Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park in early September. Although the ride was long, I was blessed with beautiful weather and no mechanical difficulties. If you drive by the house, stop and say hello. I would love to meet everyone!

My plans for this feature of the newsletter is that I would like to feature a different resident in each newsletter. This way we can all get to know each other a little better. If you would like to help me out, you can write a biography of yourself and then place it in the black box by the pool. I will randomly pick a different family from the entire resident list for each issue. (If I don?’t have your article in the black box when your name is drawn, then I will call you for an interview.)

Also, please feel free to update the black box with any changes to your biography or any concerns or comments that you would like to see in the newsletter. We can start our own ?“Dear Editor?” column.

I would like to say thanks to Kathryn for all of her hard work on the newsletter in the past, and also thank her for getting me started on the right foot on this issue. Until the next issue?…?…?…?…..go out and Meet your neighbors!
