LOCAL LANDMARK DESIGNATION
BEECHMONT HISTORIC DISTRICT

This meeting took place at the Beechmont Community Center on February 21, 2005 at 6:00 pm on February 21, 2005.

Those in attendance:
Mike Starck, Chair; Vicki Carter; Gary Guss; Lara Hurt; Wade Hurt; Julie Brackett; Joyce Compton; Elizabeth Rieber; Linda Cummings

This meeting was held specifically to discuss the issue of a Beechmont Historic District.

Mike Starck presented the following hand-outs:

- Petition Form for signatures.
- 2 Maps showing the locations of existing National Register Historic
Districts in Beechmont.
- Map of Louky Metro version of Beechmont.
- Map of Beechmont Neighborhood Associations version of Beechmont.

We need a minimum of 200 signatures to proceed with this plan. Mike asked all those present to obtain as many signatures as possible.

Valid signatures must be of those people who, live in, but necessarily own in Beechmont. Must be at least 18-years old.

BNA would like to meet with the neighborhood associations of Oakdale and Wilder Park to discuss this issue especially since Southern Parkway is a link between all 3 areas.

Elizabeth Rieber stated that all 3 neighborhoods had their own unique issues and history.

Next meeting will be on March 21, 6:00 pm at the Beechmont Community Center.
