Blueridge Homeowners Association

From time to time the Blueridge Homeowners Association tries to keep in touch with you all about the status of the association and issues that affect the community as a whole. We have always agreed that the association's main purpose is to maintain the neighborhood's common areas and to enforce the restrictions that are in place within our community. Should you have any concerns along these lines please feel free to contact us.

The budget for this year appears to be in good shape as long as nothing unforeseen should hit us. We managed to replace a lot of shrubbery at the entrances this Spring and are working to keep it all cut and watered. The old timer on the original entrance irrigation system had to be replaced recently, but after twelve years we cannot complain.

Under consideration is a small section of common area with the community that we have discussed starting to build a park like setting sometime this fall, budget permitting. There would be trees, shrubs, pathways, irrigation, a gazebo and possible some accent lighting when it's all completed. It would be a nice site somewhere down the road.

We are currently trying to line up a qualified electrician to replace the original entrance wall lighting that has burned out. It should not be much longer before that gets resolved. The bulbs for those fixtures are supposed to be expensive so we waited awhile to replace them, but it seems a third fixture is about to go out.

There are several issues that do not fall directly into our area of responsibility, but we thought we would pass on to you some matters that have been brought before us:

1. The mailboxes within our community should be painted a forest (dark) green, not black or lime green. We ask that those folks that do not comply please paint their boxes the correct color to match the rest of the neighborhood. Porter Paint has a color, Belle Meade Green, that matches the original color of the mailbox. Replacement numbers for the plate above the box can be obtained from Don Ward at Award Industries (824)-4870).

2. Any signs placed in your yard other than a "for sale" sign is strictly against our restrictions. Lately we have seen a number of political signs go up and we know it will only get worse before it gets better with November just around the corner. We plan to enforce the sign restriction in the near future and ask that you voluntarily remove such signage now. Refer to Article 5 Section 8 Page 11 of our restrictions for more detail.

3. Part of the atmosphere of our community is our gaslights. Several folks have let their lights go out or have failed to properly maintain them. For the good of the community we would like for those folks to please relight their lights or fix them. Replacement mantles can be obtained from Nashville Gas in two ways. You can call them at 734-0777 and ask them to mail you the mantles at no cost to you. Or you cn also stop by their offices at 665 Mainstream Blvd in Metro Center to pick up some free mantles.

4. Several folks have commented about the number of neighbors that allow their pets to defecate in other's yards. Please keep your pets out of other,s yards. We have an abundance of open fields within our community and it is only right that you don't allow your pet on to other's property. They don't come on to yours. Keep in mind the City of Hendersonville does have a leash law.

It is our intent to inform you of the good, the bad, and the ugly whenever it is possible. We would really appreciate your help to keep our community up to the standards by which we all decided to buy in her in the first place. It takes everyone's cooperation to abide by the rules that govern us.

Thanks very much,
