The park is having a rough time of it. The trees were badly damaged, and a few were lost in the recent major storms. The draught has taken its toll. There will be no annual flowers this year due to the draught. In addition, large areas in the center of the park have lost sod due to high activity from dogs off leashes. Neighbors, we get many calls on this! Older neighbors and parents with small children are afraid to use the park, and you all know there are leash laws. Denver Animal Control will be patrolling and ticketing offenders. Please, please... keep your dogs on leashes and obey the law! We encourage you to call Animal Control with any concerns.
Also, we will be finishing the historic stone repair at the park, and should get some maintenance to the benches. Eventually, we will get the trees replaced and pruned up.
