Bonnie Brae Neighborhood

TREES!

Jun 02, 2004

Thanks to those of you who planted Spring trees, and participated in the ?“Denver Digs Trees?” program! 2800 new trees went in city-wide, and 300+ volunteers helped. We have done very well here in Bonnie Brae?… walk around and you will see many newer trees in our neighborhood. It is nice to imagine what it will be like when they get big and mature.

Reminders: prune off the lower branches. This helps the trees focus growth up, and keeps the branches out of the way for visibility and people walking. Also, remember to provide extra hand watering to your trees and shrubs during the hot weather months. Some trees in Bonnie Brae, especially older white birches, are dying a slow death for lack of water.
