Damaged Entrance Decorative Brickwork

Posted in: Brookwood Recreational

We are working on a plan to change / improve / repair/ remove / replace / whatever the damaged brickwork at the entrance to the neighborhood on Burnett Ferry Road.  What is your idea about this?

Do you want to restore the brickwork?  Or replace it with something else?  Or just remove it without replacement?

Should the members of the recreational association finance it?  Or should all homeowners in Brookwood pay for any changes?

We are new to the neighborhood and the front entrance needs to be repaired.  I think that it needs to be modernized.  I would hope that everyone in the neighborhood would want to contribute to the front entrance - since it is a reflection on all of our homes.

I agree we must rebuild the walls at the entrance.

I would like to see a rock facia.

The look would be more contemporary. I would consider any facelift.

Like everything, the biggest issue will be the cost or time.

It is difficult to get enough people to have time to work on the project, and get it done .

I know I have time limitations on the weekends.

I also know if we try to collect funds from everyone, It will be another problem.

I really will support any effort.

The curb appeal of our subdivision has deteriorated significantly.

Anyone who is concerned about property or resale value should support this effort.

10 years ago, Brookwood was oneo f ac ouple of choices for a family niebhorhood in west Rome, that is no longer the case.

We should solicit a bid for the wall, and determine what the cost would be to repair or replace. That will help in the decision making process.

Thanks Bob

Do we not have the money in the association account to cover the front entrance?  The last updated I received on the back of my quarterly statement was that there was around $10,000 in the account.  I know that has probably changed some since that statement - but is there not still enough in the account to cover the cost of replacement or repair?
