BCA Minutes for 03/09/06



In Attendance: BCA Board Members: Susan Lindsay, Gilly Burlingham, Ann Bowling, Bethany Pratt, Lily Witham, Brianne Eastburn and Jim Andrews. Also attending: Steve Hoyt (SEUL), Bill Hoffman (PDOT), Chelsea Varnum, Joe Ryan, Ira Forleiter, Mike Wolfson, Hobie Pearson, Faddah Yuetsu-Wolf, Loran Lamb-Mullin, Andrew Jenkins, Bill Canfield, Larry Koppy, Joe Meyer, Rick Johnson, Patricia Cain, Mary Ann Schwab, Lee Perlman, Steve Mirau, and Dave Mortenson

Gilly Burlingham made a motion to approve February 2006 Board Meeting minutes. Lily Witham seconded the motion. Minutes were unanimously approved by the board.

Office Mirau came to give us a police update for the neighborhood. He talked about a drug bust that occurred at 21st & Main. The officers did everything right and several people were arrested.

Jim Andrews gave an update about the Burnside Bridgehead project and ho the Burnside/Couch couplet is still the current concern.

Bill Hoffman from the Portland Office of Transportation came to discuss Burnside/Couch couplet. The city council has directed staff to begin engineering on the project. They are working with the PDC to find quicker funding.

Faddah Yuetsu-Wolf came to talk about the Awakenings & Lighthouse project for the city repairs building convergence. There will be a mural painted and a lighthouse built. They are looking for volunteers.

Steve Hoyt gave an update about WAMO. We got some scoring changes placed into the RFP document but we did not get a 4/4 board.

Susan Lindsay asked the board to authorize a letter to the mayor?s office asking for assistance with communication with PPS on the WAMO project. Jim Andrews made a motion to approve the request. Lily Witham seconded the motion. The motion was passed unanimously by the board.

Ann Bowling reminded everyone that the neighborhood clean-up will be taking place again this year on Earth Day April 22, 2006. Anyone that wishes to volunteer should contact her.

Ann Bowling gave us a Treasurer?s Report.

Mike from Loveland came to the board to let us know that he will be applying for a full liquor license for Loveland. He presented the board with the changes that he is going to be making to the club and how everything will come out.
