Mural Update (Joe Cotter)
Design partially complete; could use a donation of paint from Miller – 2-4 gallons of exterior primer & one gallon each black satin & whit satin
Historic Designation committee (Mary Francillon)
The “windshield” survey is complete; gaining a historical designation would be prohibitively expensive; the committee plans to continue educating people regarding the value of historic preservation
Portland Plan (Susan & Don attended workshop on 06/06/08)
Encouraged people to get involved in the planning process; web address http://www.portlandonline.com/portlandplan/
Columbia Crossing (Jim Andrews)
Jim made a motion to draft a letter (to be reviewed prior to sending) not supporting a 12 lane traffic bridge, but one with fewer vehicle lanes and pedestrian, bike & light rail; notion seconded by Gilly; motion carried unanimously
Bridgehead (Jim Andrews)
Not much action; proposal to teardown convention plaza building
Communication money from SEUL
Linda moved to purchase a credit at CameraGraphics for $1761.27; Cathy seconded the motion; carried unanimously
Report from public safety committee (Susan Lindsay)
Local business man wants to hire private security to move homeless encampment out from under Morrison Bridge, with no real destination
Board elections
Slate presented for two year terms, expiring in June 2010 – Cathy Lamb-Mullin & Don MacGillivray (both re-elections), Mike McCarthy & Jeff Wese
Unanimous vote
Discussion regarding letter from Multnomah County about possible juvenile sex offender facility on Morrison & 16th; three blocks from Buckman Elementary & Cornel Sumner Park
General meetings will be moving next year (Thank you Central Catholic for the use of the library & auditorium). Possibilities include – Buckman Elementary, Multnomah County Building or Coaxis Conference room
Discussion for July meeting – invite Nick Fish, newly elected city councilor or representatives regarding the proposed juvenile sex offender facility
