MOTORIZED SKATEBOARDS
Motorized skateboards have become a hazard in our neighborhood both for the rider and the automobile operator.
Below is a brief summary of some of the regulations regarding use of motorized skateboards.? A complete listing is available from the city.
No person shall operate a motorized skateboard:
On any public right-of-way before 7:00 AM or after 8:00 PM.
*Who is under the age of fourteen.
*Who is under the age of eighteen on any public property or right-of-way, unless the person has in their possession written consent signed by their parent or legal guardian whose signature shall be notarized.
The permission document must contain a specific statement and information regarding the operator.

Furthermore:
No motorized skateboard shall be used to carry passengers.
Any person under the age of eighteen while operating on a roadway shall at all times wear a protective helmet which meets minimum standards.
No person shall operate a motorized skateboard without wearing footwear.
The operator of a motorized skateboard shall wear at all time protective glasses, goggles or a transparent face shield.
NO PERSON SHALL, IF A PARENT, GUARDIAN OR CUSTODIAN OF A CHILD UNDER EIGHTEEN YEARS FOR AGE, AUTHORIZE OR KNOWINGLY PERMIT THE CHILD TO VIOLATE THIS SECTION.
