What are the patrollers doing when you see them stop and write things down? No, they are not writing down preservation violations! In their rounds, they look for graffiti, abandoned vehicles, possible drug houses and vacant homes that are open.
They will also look for anything out of the ordinary such as garage doors that stay open, doors left open on vehicles with no one around, etc. Wouldn?’t you rather someone told you that your car was wide open and unattended rather than have someone else see it as an easy theft?
If there is a vehicle at one of your neighbors with the patrollers sign on it, do you assume the worst? Don?’t. The patrollers will stop and do checks on persons who for some reason do not get out often due to age or medical conditions. Although you may check on your immediate neighbors who need it, not everyone has you for a neighbor.
These patrollers give of their time to help make our neighborhood a safer place. They are not the enemy. Their patrols benefit all of us...☺
