Valley parents now have an easy way to plan their children?’s summer activities. The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department has posted a comprehensive guide to its summer programs at www.phoenix.gov/PARKS/summer.html on the internet. Choices range from the Department?’s popular daily youth recreation program to arts classes to swim and golf lessons. There are also options for teens and adults.
Registration for most programs runs from late April through early June. Activities are open to any resident of the Valley, and with programs at nearly 100 Phoenix sites, residents likely will find what they need close to home.
The City?’s daily youth recreation programs provide a structured, supervised environment, which reinforces positive growth and development. Daily activities include sports, crafts, drama, fine arts, table/board games, reading, music, and team games. Most programs are half day, but some sites are offering full-day programs. Programs at many sites are free, though there can be additional fees for field trips.
The Department also is offering youth, teens and adults organized sports leagues and specialized classes and lessons in the arts and sports.
