Are you home-repair impaired? If you?’ve been putting off home improvement projects because you don?’t know how to start, we?’ve got the answer.
The Neighborhood Services Department has partnered with the Maricopa Skills Center to offer a series of home improvement workshops this fall and in 2004. They?’re designed to teach home owners basic maintenance skills and will include classroom instruction, take-home materials and hands-on experience such as plumbing, electrical systems, painting and general maintenance.
The cost for each workshop module is $93; income-eligible homeowners may qualify for a 50 percent tuition reimbursement. The new classes will begin this month at the Maricopa Skills Center, 1245 E. Buckeye Road. in the coming year, they also will be held in other locations throughout the city. . . ☻
