Reduce Costs when Temperatures Rise

?…and temperatures are rising here in the beautiful Valley of the Sun! Here are some ways to keep heat from the inside of your home and help your air conditioner run more efficiently:

?• Close laundry room door when using your dryer.
* Use light colors on windows to reflect sunlight.
?• Keep blinds and draperies closed during the day.
* Install sunscreens on your windows.
?• Replace single-pane windows with double-pane windows.
* Take short, cool showers.
* Change from incandescent to compact fluorescent light bulbs.
* Make sure your fireplace damper is closed.
* Cook outdoors or use your microwave in the summer.
* Use your exhaust fan when cooking.
* Make sure your pots and pans are not smaller than the burner size on your stove.
* Use ceiling fans instead of turning your air conditioner cooler. . . ☻
