Here are some interesting statistics to consider the next time you hear an anti-gun message in the media: With 80 million U.S. gun owners, and about 1,500 accidental gun deaths per year, that?’s .0000188 accidental deaths per gun owner per year. By the same token, 700,000 doctors in the U.S., and 120,000 accidental deaths caused by them yearly, results in U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services calculations of .171 accidental deaths per physician per year. That means doctors are statistically 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners. And while less than 40% of Americans own a gun, it?’s a fact that more than 90% have at least one doctor.
