Experts say there are some strong indicators of a meth lab in operation. Here some of them:
Noxious, industrial-strength odors (like ether, ammonia, acetone, cat urine or other chemicals).
?· Residences with blacked out windows, or where blinds and curtains are constantly closed.
?· Residences in which the occupants seldom leave the house with any regularity.
?· Unusually high numbers of short-term (5-10 minute) visitors, coming and going at unusual times. Generally, there will be few visitors during the day, but at night, the traffic increases dramatically.
?· Excessive trash, including large quantities of cold medicine containers and packaging, stacks of antifreeze containers, lantern fuel cans, propane and butane bottles, clear glass containers, red chemically stained coffee filters, drain cleaner and duct tape.
?· Extensive security, like motion sensors, traps surveillance cameras, or obvious efforts to obscure the view inside the residence. . . ☺
