A call from a neighbor, who is also a frequent walker in our Square, prompted this friendly reminder: are you keeping your sidewalks free from debris? Unfortunately, walking or jogging within our neighborhood often includes the need to step around trash and vegetation debris which has been allowed to accumulate on sidewalks. This side-stepping is also necessary at some residences where trees, bushes and plants have overgrown their boundaries and impose physical obstacles to the pedestrian right-of-way, causing children on their various cycles, walkers and joggers to travel into the street to detour around them.
It behooves us all, not only as a courtesy to our neighbors, but from a standpoint of responsibility and perhaps even liability, to do a little ?“sidewalk assessment?”.
Is your sidewalk traversable?. . .☺
