New Twin-Engine Helicopter Added to Fleet by Councilman Seibert

A new twin-engine helicopter will be added to the city?’s air support fleet next year. I have been working to get this aircraft for several years and I am excited and relieved that it will soon become a reality. Over the next few months, the Police Air Support unit and the Fire Department will be testing several different models of twin-engine helicopters against the stresses of the Phoenix climate. This helicopter will be a great addition to the current fleet of nine single engine helicopters. Mountain rescues will be much safer for PD, Fire and the victim with an additional engine for performance and safety. This helicopter is also much better at fighting brush fires than the current single engine helicopters. Its lifting capacity is as much as 3 times greater than the current fleet.
