Parking On Unpaved Vacant Lots ...by CAO Linda Johnston

Jul 07, 2003

If you are the owner of a va?cant lot, did you know you could be cited and fined when vehicles park on unpaved portions of that property?

According to Phoenix City Code, it is unlawful to use non-dust proof vacant lots for parking because the dust created from the vehicles can be a nuisance and a health hazard.

Lot owners can help protect themselves by calling 602-534-3567 and registering their prop?erty with the city?’s Neighborhood Services Department, which can then erect ?“No Parking?” signs on the property. However, the police department can still ticket the ve?hicles parked on unimproved lots regardless of the presence of signs.

Also, be aware that if you are parking your vehicle for any rea?son on one of these unpaved lots, the fine if you are ticketed is $50.00.

For more information regard?ing registering your lot, call 602-262-7844...☺
