Kids in your neighborhood can benefit directly from a targeted donation to Kool Kids, the Parks and Recreation Department?’s free swimming program at selected city pools.
Individual donors and neighborhood groups now have the option of designating funds for a specific pool. Aquatic Section Marketing Coordinator Mark Brust will be happy to attend your next neighborhood meeting to present information about Kool Kids, water safety and aquatic programs.
Kool Kids' generous supporters, which include individuals, neighborhood groups and corporations, last year donated almost $80,000 to the nationally recognized program. As a result, more than 150,000 youths enjoyed free swimming.
For each dollar donated, two youths will be admitted to a city pool during open swim sessions.
No administrative or operational costs are deducted from a Kool Kids donation.
