Recently, there have been several Burglaries where suspects have been entering businesses at night after closing. Most all of the targeted businesses have alarm systems. The suspects are entering the businesses by throwing a rock through the front window. After the suspects enter, they go directly to the office area and look for checks, such as payroll checks. Now, these guys are relatively smart because they are not taking the whole checkbooks. They take a couple of checks from the middle of the checkbook and return the checkbook where they found it. They then take a few other things that really don?’t have any value such as a telephone, plant or a lamp. They leave all the really valuable merchandise to make it appear to the victim that the loss was not more than a broken window and a few small things. This way the victim doesn?’t take the burglary very se
rious, until a few weeks later when the bank calls and advises that the account is overdrawn.
Like I said, mostly all of the businesses that have been hit, have alarms. The suspects don?’t need more than one to three minutes inside the business.
Protect yourselves and your business by keeping your checks locked up somewhere else other than the obvious places. . .☺
