the following is from Business First of Louisville - November 14, 2000 (http://www.bizjournals.com/louisville/stories/2000/11/13/daily20.html):
Sixty-four new homes, each between 1,300 and 1,400 square feet, are planned in Louisville's California neighborhood.
Louisville Mayor David Armstrong will announce the project, which is a collaborative effort among the city, The Housing Partnership, PNC Bank and National City Bank, during a 10 a.m. press conference, Wednesday, at 1659 W. Oak St.
The homes will be built on currently vacant lots, with either three- or 15-year paths to home ownership, according to a news release. The California neighborhood is bounded from Broadway to Oak on the north and south, and from Ninth to 26th streets on the east and west.

An interesting project would be to locate each of the homes build by the above 2 intitiatives and interview the new homeowners about their house-owning experiences.
