First I would like to introduce myself, my name is Richard Shoemaker. I?’m an active duty United States Air Force Recruiter. I?’ve been in the Air Force for seven and one-half years and I have a wife named Mikal and a two-year-old daughter named Sierra. We moved to this neighborhood a little over two years ago and I?’ve served on the Board of Directors for most of that time. We think this is a great place to live and part of the reason why I decided to continue my service to this community. We will be here for about another two years or until I am required to leave due to the military. Well that?’s enough about us.
Now I would like to say a huge thank you to my soon-to-be predecessor Brad Richards for the 5 years of very fine service to this community and to the city of Jacksonville. Brad has made many improvements to the area along with ensuring that some things stay just the way they are so that this will always be a wonderful place to live. I have learned many things from my time on the board and my time with the other board members. Brad was a very caring and understanding individual who, I believe, would give the shirt off his back for his neighbors. That is why he will be sorely missed. So I?’m sure that I speak for the majority of us when I say, Thank You Brad for a job VERY WELL DONE!
Finally, where do we go from here? I have seen this community begin to come together in the short time we?’ve been here and I hope to continue this trend!
To start with there a community yard sale in October.
I want to help make this a family community in which people will want to live due to the awareness and effort that each homeowner puts forth towards improving the quality of life in Ft. Caroline Cove.
So, if you see me on the street walking with my wife & daughter please say hello or just give a wave. That is the kind of environment I hope to see in this community. Thank you very much for welcoming my family and I into Ft. Caroline Cove.
