This will be my last entry into the newsletter as your President. I just wanted to thank you all for the opportunity to serve you and the community of Jacksonville. This has proved to be an excellent neighborhood to live and raise a family in.
That being said there is always room for improvement.
The association has made huge strides to get some of the residents back on track, however there are still many issues that need to be looked after to ensure that everyone follows the guidelines set forth by the homeowners and the association.
It is for this reason that I would suggest that the new Board of Directors and this neighborhood seriously consider going to a professional management company to continue the work that we have begun and kept going for the past seven years.
I have seen many good trends beginning in this neighborhood and a few bad ones that seem to linger around.
The yards have gotten infinitely better in the past few years but the assessment of fines and collection of yearly fees have continued to either be the same or worse every year. This is something that will need to get corrected so property values and other real estate concerns don?’t start on the decline due to a few residents.
This is something that all residents can assist in getting resolved. It stems from helping your neighbor if you see something that can help them. The vision of a true neighborhood is a friendship and family atmosphere.
That is what we should work to build here in Ft Caroline Cove. The management companies out there are pretty good at the rules enforcement side of the house and they will get things done in a very professional manner and that is why I suggest we look that way for our future needs.
I will be leaving this neighborhood soon but I will always call this place home due to the people and friends that I have met and made here. Both of my children were born here and it will always have a place in my heart.
I hope that we all feel this way about it. So once again from my family and me I say thank you and goodbye.
