I would like to thank all of you for the opportunity to be on the Board this year. I hope I can assist in making this a good neighborhood.
There will soon be an opening on the Board. The position is that of Vice President, a training position in preparation for the position of President.
The Vice President presides at Board meetings in the absence of the President. The position is for a period of two years, or less, should the President have to resign.
I have listed below some observations in the neighborhood:
Most of the lawns are looking good, but some still need work. Remember, when you put down sod, you must water it daily until it takes hold. Otherwise, it will die. Let?’s all strive to take good care for our yards. If you have weeds, they will extend to your neighbor?’s yard causing bad relations.
Pet owners should make sure that droppings are not left in the neighbors?’ yards while walking your pets. Please pick up after your pet. How would you like to have someone leave that in your yard? Let?’s all work together to get along. Pet droppings in yards are very irritating.
Some dog owners are letting their dogs out without a leash to relieve themselves. This is not allowed by city code. I have observed this as a problem. The unleashed dog then goes into the neighbor?’s yard and barks at them like they don?’t belong in their own yards. Also, that neighbor has no way of knowing if the dog will attack. If the City is contacted about your pet, a visit by a City animal control official is imminent. (See Q&A Section)
There continues to be a problem with manually operated skateboards being used in the street causing vehicles to dodge the skateboards. It?’s a dangerous act. The street is for vehicles. Some children are setting up ramps for skateboards in the street. You must cease this immediately. Someone will get injured.
Motorized scooters and skateboards are prohibited on any city street or sidewalk. They can only be operated in a designated area.
Parents, it is your duty to enforce the rules. Children do not think about the consequences of their actions.
