What a great homeowners meeting. Richard SHoemaker introduced Property Management Systems, Inc. representatived at the meeting. They will be managing the association for the next year. Their number is (904) 225-9070 in case you need to contact them. They will be handling the day-to-day operations and inspections of the association. They are also reviewing the financial records of the association which were turned over by the outgoing secretary, Bill Thompson.
The association's attorney, George Hall was also present to answer questions.
Everything went smoothly with the exception of a last minute arrival who wanted to have a recall of the board of directors because of its decision to hire a professional management company. The Board instructed him how to go about obtaining the proper forms needed to call for a recall election and outlined that he would have to forward that petition to the management company for verification of eligibility of each signatory and if the necessary number of petitioners were obtained, then PMSI would forward to the board a recommendation for a special election.
The Vice President stated to this individual that annual elections for a seat on the board would occur in December anyway and that allowing a professional company to get through the books and help the board ensure the upcoming elections went smoothly and the necessary notifications were mailed out in accordance with Florida law made sense and further told this individual to wait until then to proceed.
At the end of the meeting several individuals volunteered for the outgoing secretary's seat on the board and the board would meet and decide on a replacement. There were also enough volunteers to finally fill an Architectural Control Committee.
Stay tuned for a welcome letter from PMSI as well as notification of the annual meeting sometime in December.
