Raising a challenging child

Hello, my name is Tammy Brockert. I'm a 32 yr old mother of two children.My oldest son is 8 years old and was diagnosed having Asperger Syndrome/PDD-Nos a year and a half ago. Everyday is a gamble,stressfull,heartbreaking, yet remarkable, amazing and truly rewarding when I as a parent helped my son understand issues we as most adults take for granted. My son has some difficulty making & understanding friends. I am creating this website for other parents to help join together as a group & help our children in everyway possible. Also as parents, we need a support network that will help us get through the rough times & just to need a friend who only that person can understand.

Working for our children

It is extremely important that as parents, it is our responsibility & priveledge to help direct our children in the most positive ways in everyday confrontations & lessons. As, Ihop, that when this group gets up and going, we won't be alone anymore. Therefore we can function as a unit for our children & ourselves.

Getting the facts straight

My intentions in beginning this is to make sure that we all get the facts clear about any type of learning disabilty or handicap. There is to be no judgenebt passed unto thers & the ways of parenting conducted in the privacy of their own life. Respect, kindness, and most of all, discretion is crucial.
