Catalina del Sol has an effective Neighborhood Watch Program that is designed to deter, delay, and detect any unusual crime activity observed in our area. Neighborhood vigilance is the key to preventing unwanted criminal activity! Working together we can be the "eyes and ears" for the Sheriff's Department. Our home owners association is now part of the Pima County Sheriff's Department automatic crime update program. The Rincon District Patrol will provide us with current crime statistics, trends, and personal protection suggestions. These updates will be included on the Catalina del Sol Web Site. Also included in the updates will be information provided by the Pima County Animal Control Center. The Animal Control Center will provide us additional information concerning rabid animal alerts and other "pet warnings."
*** ATTENTION***
The Sheriffs Department has reported some cases of individuals using forced entry into homes on the NORTHEAST side of Tucson. These individuals have conducted break-ins during "daylight hours" while people have been in their residence.
THINGS YOU CAN DO TO NEGATE THIS THREAT:
**Keep your doors locked and garage doors down. YES...even during the daytime.
**Make sure people identify themselves BEFORE you open the door. Don't be afraid to ask someone to come to a window to show their credentials.
**Report all suspicious persons or activities you observe to the Sheriff's Department....they have repeatedly stated that they would prefer to respond even though the threat may turn out to be harmless!!!
We have not had ANY serious incidents reported in our immediate neighborhood...so relax, BUT stay vigilant!!
