Caufield Creek Wetlands Clean Up and Enhancement Project April 26, 2003 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM

As part of the 16th Annual Oregon City clean up, the wetlands and ponds adjacent to Pioneer Place on Glenn Oak road have been nominated as an enhancement site. Hundreds of native plants, trees, wildflowers and wetland plants were donated by the Environmental Learning Center for the project. The re-vegetation of the area will improve its overall appearance and restore habitat for wild birds, rabbits and other critters.

Jobs needing to be done are the removal of blackberry vines and removal of any debris; and planting of native trees, shrubs and wildflowers. All equipment will be provided by the First City Cleanup and Enhancement Committee. Be sure to dress for the weather!

Volunteers are asked to meet at Clackamette Park at 8:30 AM to receive an orientation and safety talk, plus a morning snack and volunteer tee-shirt. This year volunteers can receive a voucher worth $25.00 at the Metro South Transfer Station. Lunch will be served at Clackamette park beginning at 1:00 PM or there-about. Come on out and pitch in to help make our neighborhood a more beautiful place to live!

Work will start working at roughly 9:00 AM. All supplies, snacks, lunch and good times are included! See you there.
