The following article is a letter from David Evans and Associates to the Project Team; Reference: Glen Oak Road
It looks like construction will soon begin for the Glen Oak Road Improvements project in Oregon City. This project will construct new pavement and curbs from the intersection at Highway 213 to approximately Heider Drive (Pioneer Place subdivision). Installation of three box culverts, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, waterline and a new signal at the Highway 213 intersection
are also part of the project. Bid plans and special provisions are now available (Available for viewing at City Hall). Bids are scheduled to be opened by the City of Oregon City on March 26th. Commencement of work is expected on May 5th with substantial completion of the roadwork prior to September 1, 2003.
An Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) has been signed by the City of Oregon City and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) for installation of a new signal at the intersection of Glen Oak Road and Highway 213. Roadway centerline, right?–of-way, and easements have been staked for information purposes. Right ?–of-way and /or easements are currently being acquired. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and the Division of State Lands (DSL)permits are expected soon, but are not yet secure.
Utility companies have been notified of any potential conflicts with construction activities and their facilities. They are planning relocations as necessary and it is expected that their relocation schedules will be coordinated with the contractor that is selected to construct the Glen Oak Road Improvements projects.
