The easement for the sign is at the tip of the island at the front of the neighborhood. Also, the neighborhood has access to two other easments at either side of the entrance. At this time we have been informed by the city that we have to pay a fee of over 2000.00 plus the cost of the sign in order to have the brick sign that was voted on by the neighborhood members. This means that we would, as a neighborhood, have to come up with more than 2000.00 more dollars above and beyond what is in the Cheverton bank account. This does not seem reasonable at this time.
November 2nd, at 7pm is the next sign meeting, and quotes for a 'like for like' sign are to be discussed. A metal, standing sign, similar to what is there now, will not cost the neighborhood the city fees, and will be much more affordable at this time.
We are also looking into landscaping the island after placing the new sign. Anyone who has any ideas or quotes from a landscaping company that you may use for your home please contact
hirisqrn@bellsouth.net and your information will be passed along to the sign committee.
More information, including the bylaws to be added to the website soon.
