About the Program: Is similar to the Adopt-A-Road program except that the minimum section of roadway is two miles. The rest of the terms remain the same. Groups that are interested in adopting state maintained roadways should contact the Florida Department of Transportation. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Adopt A Road: A great way to build a sense of community pride and get recognition for your group, business or organization. Those wanting to participate are required to adopt a minimum of one mile of county maintained roadway and clean it four times a year, for at least two years. Groups are welcome to extend the agreement beyond the two year minimum.

About the Program: The restoration or rehabilitation of stormwater ponds is essential to the health of our lakes, creeks, rivers and bays. All stormwater ponds should have a landscape design. This design is critical to the success of the pond. Aquatic vegetation used to stabilize a pond and to remove pollutants is a vital link that helps maintain water quality. Other amenities that a properly designed pond may have are increased wildlife habitat, recreation areas, and aesthetic vistas. The Adopt-A-Pond program helps citizens learn to maintain their neighborhood ponds by providing them with the resources and expertise they need to successfully do so.

About the Program: Held annually in conjunction with The Ocean Conservancy. Volunteers - families, church members, and interest groups help to do their part in reducing litter in and around Hillsborough County's waterways, as well as Tampa Bay.
