The City of San Antonio sponsors a meal program for people 60 years or older in a dining hall setting or for frail elderly who need to have the meal delivered to their residence.
The meals will be served at Rolling Oaks Baptist Church, five (5) days a week. The majority of the time the meals are hot. On holidays, sack lunches are prepared.
If you would like to be a part of this program, please call 590-4177. You will be asked to complete a simple application which states your name, social security number, birth date, phone number and an emergency contact name.
A licensed dietician prepares the menus and the meals are prepared by certified cooks in kitchens that have been inspected by the city''s health department.
If the person can afford it, the meal donation is fifty cents ($.50) per meal. If the person cannot afford it, the meal is free. By policy set by the Older Americans Act, the donations received can only be used to augment the meal program.
