City Park Neighborhood Association

April Email Newsletter

Apr 16, 2002

Good morning to all of you in the City Park Neighborhood. Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having lately. I just wanted to put out a few quick notes to all of you. I know your time is limited, so I will try to keep it short.

To get started, I wanted to let everyone know that we now have a website. It is still in progress but does have a few items on it and it will continue to be more and more useful as time goes on. There is a bulletin board area for anyone to discuss neighborhood issues and there is a calendar of events section so you can keep updated on the summer's events. Please email me if you have any suggestions or items to add to the site. The website address is www.neighborhoodlink.com/ftcollins/citparkna Hope this can be useful for all of us!

Also wanted to let everyone know that CSU students are going to be cleaning up City Park (including the ditch that some of us usually help us with) on Saturday, April 13th starting at 10:00am at the playground. They have ask this to be a combined effort between CSU and the neighbors to help keep the city clean. They will provide the bags, but ask that we bring our own gloves. I think this is a great time to get to know your neighbors, do something good for the area, and to meet some of the students that want to make a difference in the city. So hope to see you there!

For those of you that have called the City Park Neighborhood Association (CPNA) about the pool closing, I just wanted to let you know that we have been keeping in touch with Chuck Wanner about the issue and have been informed that they are doing all that they can to reopen the pool for next summer (2003). If we learn anything else, we will keep you posted. As I understand it, the wading pool WILL be open for this summer for the smaller children.

And lastly, I just wanted to invited everyone one to email us or call us with any questions or concerns you may have for any of your neighborhood issues. Our email addresses will follow this newsletter. Our 2002 events are in the works but we have not formerly set dates for any of our events yet. We will be doing an Annual Meeting in May or June, the National Night Out in August (our ice-cream social with train rides for the kids) and hopefully several more events this year including another neighborhood garage sale if we have enough participants. We are always looking for ideas of things you would like to see done or events you would like to see happen, so please let us know.

Thank you for your time and we all look forward to seeing you out as the weather starts getting nicer.
