Future NA Meetings

FUTURE Regular Neighborhood Association Meetings:

In place of our usual Neighborhood meeting this month, Nov. 18th we will be meeting at the Classen-Ten-Penn SafeHaven at 1911 N. Classen Blvd (on the NW corner of 18th & Classen Blvd, Next to ?“Hair Rage Salon?”). This will be a Vision & Strategic Planning Meeting to determine what additional programs and services at the SafeHaven are needed, who will fill what roles, and how we can sustain the changes when the program ends. It was decided at the last Weed & Seed meeting that EVERYONE should be given the opportunity for input and that instead of several meetings, one day-long meeting should be held. So, it will be from 9am-5pm. We will be discussing the results of the surveys returned and determining what steps are needed to make the most of the resources available to us. If you have some input, this is the meeting you should attend.

Next month, Dec 16th, we will have our regular meeting at 11am at the Penn Ave Methodist Church (SE corner of 13th & Penn) with one annual exception: POT LUCK diner! So, bring a dish of whatever you like and join us. Councilwoman Ann Simank has offered to contribute the Turkey this year and based on our previous Pot Luck?’s it?’s sure to be worth getting up on a Saturday morning to make it. We?’ve got some excellent cooks in our community family! Come share yours and meet your neighbors!

Last, but not least, we will have the next Community Weed & Seed meeting Dec. 18th at 6 pm at the Classen-Ten-Penn SafeHaven. At the last meeting, Ed reviewed the results of the surveys with us. Attendees requested a breakdown of some of the results to show the differences in some of the answers that were given by Gatewood, the Plaza District and those by Classen-Ten-Penn. Though the program should be as cohesive as possible, most agreed that some needs would differ based on the varying locations. We will also be discussing the results of the Vision & Strategic Planning meeting that was held in Nov. and what should be done and by whom.

Typically, all NA meetings are the 3rd Sat every month. Board meetings are the previous Sat. (Ocassionally, meeting times or days will be changed so please contact an officer if you are interested in attending to confirm.) All meetings are held at 11am at: Penn Ave Methodist Church located on the SE corner of 13th and Penn.
